Komodo National Park is a wild, cinematic region best explored by private yacht, with dramatic islands and clear, quiet bays.

Komodo is one of Indonesia’s most iconic yacht charter destinations, known for its Jurassic landscapes, vibrant coral reefs and encounters with the legendary Komodo dragons. The region offers a striking contrast to the tropics of Raja Ampat, with open savannah hillsides and wind-carved ridges.

Travelling by private yacht allows you to move effortlessly between pink-sand beaches, remote anchorages and calm turquoise lagoons. Each day is shaped entirely around you – from manta ray sightings and scenic ridge walks to chef-prepared meals and sunset cocktails on deck.

A Komodo yacht charter blends barefoot luxury with real adventure, giving you the freedom to explore the park’s wild islands, rich marine life and dramatic coastlines at your own pace.

Komodo sits within the heart of the Coral Triangle, home to more than 1,000 species of fish and over 260 species of coral.

The mix of warm and cool currents creates exceptional biodiversity, from vast coral gardens to exhilarating drift dives.

Around 60% of Komodo’s dive sites are also ideal for snorkelling, with shallow fringing reefs perfect for all experience levels. Expect manta rays, reef sharks, schooling trevallies, pygmy seahorses and vibrant macro life. Whale sharks are occasionally spotted on extended itineraries that continue west to Sumbawa.

Surfers can take advantage of longer one-way routes that link Komodo with Lombok, Sumbawa, Sumba or Rote, opening access to world-class breaks and empty line-ups.

Otherworldly landscapes shaped by nature and time

Komodo is a remarkable meeting point of Asian and Australasian wildlife – a transition famously observed by naturalist Alfred Wallace in 1854. The channel between Bali and Lombok, now known as the Wallace Line, marks this shift in flora and fauna.

Within the park, the scenery changes with every anchorage. The northern islands are defined by smooth rolling hills and mangrove-fringed coastlines. The central region becomes steeper and more rugged, with rocky peaks rising above turquoise bays. In the far south, Horseshoe Bay delivers the park’s most dramatic setting: mist-covered cliffs, cooler water, and a raw, remote feel reminiscent of a prehistoric world.

A Komodo yacht charter lets you explore this diversity at your own pace – a journey combining wildlife, culture, and Indonesia’s most cinematic landscapes.
