The story of Teman began in the southern part of the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, where she was handcrafted by local shipwrights and launched in June 2017.
During construction, a rich variety of wood types were carefully selected and dried. Teak and iron wood; Ulin, Nona-lara and Merbau, were combined and placed in a way that would make the most out of the different characters, textures and strengths of each wood.
The boat sails seasonally between Raja Ampat and Komodo. Specialising in scuba diving and leisure cruises, Teman and its crew look forward to welcoming you on board and sharing with you the gems they have discovered during their 20 years of experience sailing across Indonesia.
With 5 comfortable cabins, Teman can host up to 12 guests on board. All cabins are equipped with air conditioning, Integrated storage space, portholes and a hatch, electrical outlets (EU) and reading lights.
Located in the rear of the boat, the Sulawesi Double is the prized room with a queen size double bed and a huge window to enjoy everyday views during the cruise. The cabin has access to a private bathroom and air conditioning as in any of our cabins.
The Celebes and Seram cabins feature a queen size double bed and a single bed, as well as a desk and several storage areas for convenience. These cabins allow natural light from the roof window if you open the small curtain.Located in the front of the boat, the Banda and Flores cabins are spacious and can accommodate an extra bed if needed.
There are 8 to 10 crew members on board Teman at all times, including a western cruise director with years of experience in the Indonesian waters who is a native English speaker and a PADI instructor since 2004. The boat crew are local Indonesians; a captain, a mechanic, two steerers for the tenders/deck hands, a cook, a steward and two dive masters.
